Russell Island has a lot going for it. Lots of history, a very pleasant trail around much of the island and a very pleasant anchorage. Perhaps its’ best feature though is this lovely shell beach on the eastern side. This is a very popular place to land in kayaks, a picnic table is nearby and the sunsets from the point are incredible. Just watch the reef off the northern side if you’re coming in by boat.
