The lightstation at East Point, Saturna Island was built between 1881 and 1887 to keep sailors away from the rough waters of Boiling Reef. East Point is by far the best area in the Gulf Islands National Park to view orcas as they regularly swim around the point although you still have to be a little fortunate to see them as they are somewhat unpredictable. Bring your picnic and you may get the timing just right.
