Shingle Bay is located about a 10 minute drive from the Ferry terminal. 10 rustic campsites are available and being located on a gravel beach this is an excellent choice for kayakers. There is good hiking in the area with a trip to Roe Lake above the campground a highlight.
The campsites are available from May 15 to September 30.
Getting to Shingle Bay Canpground:
The Penders are accessible from Swartz Bay (Vancouver Island) and Tsawwassen (Mainland, near Vancouver) through BC Ferries. BC Ferries provides service to Otter Bay Ferry Terminal on North Pender. The park can also be reached by water with a private boat or kayak – access from Shingle Bay or perhaps Thieves Bay. By land, the park can be found off Shingle Bay Road, about a 10 minute drive from the ferry terminal.
