The Alpine Group runs a passenger ferry to Sidney Spit between mid May and Labour Day in September. The 25 minute trip leaves regularly during the summer months, a schedule is at Sidney Spit Ferry Schedule. The Sidney Spit ferry leaves from the wharf at the bottom of Beacon Street in Sidney.
This is a great service for those wanting to visit Sidney Spit who don’t have access to a boat or kayak. Bicycles are not allowed on the ferry but you may take your dog. Their vessel, the Alpine ll is a 50 Ft catamaran that holds up to 41 passengers. This vessel is powered by Volvo twin diesel engine and can travel up to 12 knots.
