Sidney Spit Ferry

The Alpine Group runs a passenger ferry to Sidney Spit between mid May and Labour Day in September. The 25 minute trip leaves regularly during the summer months, a schedule is at Sidney Spit Ferry Schedule. The Sidney Spit ferry leaves from the wharf at the bottom of Beacon Street in Sidney.

This is a great service for those wanting to visit Sidney Spit who don’t have access to a boat or kayak. Bicycles are not allowed on the ferry but you may take your dog. Just be prepared to clean up after your pooch on both the ferry and Sidney Island. Bring a lunch or your camping gear. More information on Sidney Spit.

Their vessel, the Alpine ll is a 50 Ft catamaran that holds up to 41 passengers. This vessel is powered by Volvo twin diesel engine and can travel up to 12 knots.
